Job Description
The Engineer will engage in technical presales and post sales engineering support for OR System Integration and Enterprise Content Management opportunities. The Sales Engineer will interface and align with the potential customers and internal Olympus stakeholders. The Sr. Sales Engineer will support sales project management and customers during pre-sales activities through hand-off to the Implementation Team.
Job Duties
- The sales engineering team will help support strategic and large-scale evaluations to gain market support of Olympus System Integration solution.
- Serve as a Systems Integration expert to drive adoption of Integration and Knowledge Management solutions.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of our IT Enterprise Solutions and can communicate those to the customers’ IT department and the Sales Territory Manager.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive technical command of all solutions within the Systems Integration portfolio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Takes responsibility to ensure the technical reliability of all on-site Demo equipment and for any site visit equipment being shown. Communicates directly with the Territory Manager and has a clear understanding of what the technical objectives are for the Demo and/or site visit.
- Provides advanced technical sales consulting in pre-sale and post-sale situations to customers and Territory Manager. Can articulate the unique capabilities of our product solutions and can lead a discussion with both the customer and Territory Manager that details these advantages.
- Works with TM closely to build a complete project design and ensure that the solutions being proposed meet the customer’s needs and is a solution that Olympus can deliver.
- Own pre-sales and post-sales documentation, which would include SOW, Quoting Tool and customer drawings oversight.
- Assists in the training of any new hire in the respective territory.
- Acts as a pre-sales and post-sales “Olympus” project manager in gathering needs and requirements for the customer and ensures a clean delivery of required information to Olympus partner, Avnet.
- Assist Territory Manager(s) in all budgetary quoting requirements during the sales process.
- A firm understanding of the industry construction process and assist sales team with representing Olympus in any offsite or onsite meetings.
- Assist in training and in-servicing customers.
- Assist scheduling internal and external kickoff calls with customers (PM duty)
- Assist in respective sales and/or engineering needs for Installations (PM duty)
- Assist in “Go Live” (PM duty)
- Understand and identify customers’ needs pre and post sales to assist Territory Manager in uncovering, developing and closing leads.
- Commitment to education in all areas of the IT industry, products and services
- Assist project closeout with Avnet & KR Wolfe (PM duty)
- This role will involve extensive travel 60%+
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Deep knowledge of networking video over IP security and IT environment
- Advanced understanding of video integration technology
- Excellent presentation and objection-handling skills
- Excellent planning and implementation skills
- Solid working knowledge of electronics personal computer hardware and audio/video equipment preferred Proven ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated decision making ability towards solving problems and effectively communicating these solutions to co-workers and customers.
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal including group presentation skills, use of Microsoft and SalesForce applications.
Preferred:
- Extensive experience in medical or commercial Audio/Video installations
- Advanced experience with hospital IT departments IT networking/connectivity and EMR/PACs systems
- Experience with Olympus solutions and implementation capabilities
- Understanding infrastructure products
