Summary:
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of improvement processes to enhance the capacity, quality and efficiency of manufacturing methods. Working with cross functional teams to eliminate waste and implement innovative systems to improve workflow.
Responsibilities:
· Work with Operations team to make operational adjustments as necessary by reviewing daily reports to insure continued growth in productivity and efficiency
· Under general direction, plan and implement the layouts of plant, office, and production equipment in order to provide the maximum utilization of facilities and efficiency of production
· Apply Lean principles to optimize work/process flow, set-up time reduction and quick change over
· Perform and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities to the facility and it’s machines and equipment
· Research, evaluate and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance
· Conduct safety audits to identify potential accident and health hazards in work areas
· Ensure that personal protective equipment, such as masks, respirators, protective eyewear, hardhats, fire retardant clothing and safety boots are being used in workplaces according to regulations
· Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local labor laws, environmental regulations, OSHA compliance and City ordinances
· Leverage the company’s ERP system (Syteline) to analyze manufacturing data
· Document standard work including creation of work instructions, recording and analyzing cycle times, and value stream mapping
· Create and lead Kaizen projects
· Program and train production employees as needed
Minimum required qualifications:
· BA in Engineering or related field
· 2-4 years experience in manufacturing operations in an engineering role
· Practical knowledge of continuous improvement and lean concepts
· Proficiency with MS Office and relevant engineering software
