The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist supporting Global Kaizen, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leads impactful improvement in our global sites and operations through multi-team 5-day kaizen approach. 
  • Benchmarks and works with world class kaizen practitioners and applying learnings and improvements across the globe
  • Aligns with business needs and identifies opportunities to build calendar of activity and apply kaizen at plant and facilities across the global network
  • Supports building kaizen standard work and coaching Global Continuous Improvement specialists in running their own kaizen workshops
  • Identify, develop, and train organization on processes related to Continuous improvement and problem solving in the organization.
  • Influence and drive a culture of continuous improvement. 

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND Seven (7) years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Business Environment or Continuous Improvement in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma AND Eleven (11) years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Business Environment or Continuous Improvement in a private, public, government or military environment

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Experience running Kaizen workshops as an improvement method
  • Current, valid Passport or ability obtain it
  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • Eight (8) years of direct experience with Kaizen or continuous improvement methods in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Lean or Six sigma advanced training or certification:  (Master Black Belt, Black Belt, Bronze/Silver/Gold Lean certification or other formal training or certification related to lean, Kaizen, process improvement methodology).
  • Operating model development and deployment experience.   
  • Ability to influence and develop a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Skills include strong communication, ability to influence, ability to lead teams through improvements, organization and planning, coaching and developing. 

Work location: Remote

Travel: May include up to 50% of domestic and international traveling
