Position SummaryOversee the Security Department to ensure the safety and security of our internal and external guests. Reports to the Hotel Manager.
Job Description
Key Job Functions
- Maintain and update Security Monthly Activity & Statistical Report
- Maintenance and revision of training manuals and programs
- Staffing, training and developing of Security Team
- Check and monitor time and attendance daily
- Maintain bi-weekly manual sign-in sheets
- File and maintain all Security Incident and Supplemental Reports
- Maintain, revise and keep all security forms and documents current
- Log and maintain the hotel’s Lost & Found valuable items
- Monitor mailing and distribution of all items in storage
- Patrol property including outside areas (public area, guest floor and employee area)
- Monitor surveillance cameras
- Complete employee and guest injury reports
- Complete Incident and Supplementary reports
- Respond and assist with emergency medical situations and alarms
- Inspect guest rooms to determine the reason(s) for unanswered guest wake-up calls

Qualifications and Skills:
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competence.
- Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
- Communication skills utilize a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to adhere to grooming standards
- Ability to understand and execute all safety and emergency procedures, (for example: fire, crowd control, inclement weather, and bomb threats)
- Ability to understand and operate emergency equipment, (for example: respirators, wheelchairs, and fire extinguishers)
- Ability to utilize communication equipment (for example: telephones, radios, and beepers)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and other employees
- Ability to interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner
- Ability to lift and move, in an emergency, an immobilized adult
- Ability to be certified in Basic First Aid and CPR
- Ability to read and write effectively
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior Police, Contract Security Service, Hotel security and Supervisory experience preferred.
