Job Description

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $26.23 PER HOUR.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

ACS’ Division of Financial Services (DFS) is responsible for supporting, planning, implementing, and monitoring the fiscal functions of the agency in accordance with City, State and Federal guidelines. Within DFS, the Executive Unit is responsible for oversight of eight finance departments including (Budget, Payments, Audit, Policy, Central Eligibility Office, Systems Support Office, and Claiming and Revenue) as well as other operations matters related to Administration and Personnel. DFS is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Administration & Operations Graduate Intern to join our team.

As an Administration & Operations Graduate Intern you will support our Executive team in day-to-day operations and contribute to long-term projects aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the operations of a 300+ workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with documenting policies and processes, and reviewing for usability and consistency in efforts to consolidate into a division-wide manual

- Assist with developing templates and processes to ensure smooth communication across departments

- Collaborate with leadership to ensure completion of requests related to agency/divisional goals

- Support the Chief of Staff and Executive Director of Operations with personnel and administrative projects, and assist with special projects

- Help organize and coordinate events and workshops

Learning Outcomes:

- Gain comprehensive knowledge of HR operations in a government setting.

- Develop skills in managing employee relations and understanding HR compliance.

- Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks and events.


ADDITONAL INFORMATION:

Qualifications
