About the role

Description

Tulane University Law School invites nominations and applications for the Eason-Weinmann Chair in International and Comparative Law. We seek an academic leader with a record of distinguished scholarship, excellence in teaching, and the demonstrated capacity to direct well-established programs in their respective fields. The appointment will be made at the level of tenured, full professor. 


The responsibilities of the chair holder include scholarly research and publication; classroo
teaching; and participation in faculty governance. The chair holder is also expected to be actively engaged with faculty both within the Law School and throughout the University, providing leadership for integrative research activities and significant engagement with academic institutions and professional organizations in their respective fields. The chair holder is expected to provide leadership in terms of research, curriculum, and public engagement. Tulane Law School, with world-leading strength in environmental, energy, maritime, as well as international and comparative law, provides the chair holder with the unique opportunity and support to lead and expand an already prominent prograin these areas. Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

The qualifications required for the chair are:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) in Law
• Broad recognition for scholarly distinction
• Established publication record
• Clearly developed long ter
research agenda
• Extensive teaching experience
 
• De
monstrated capacity for programmatic leadership
