Lead Manufacturing Programs Manager

Role Overview:

Connection and interface between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Customer facing organizations focused on product/manufacturing readiness, execution and delivery. Contributes to execution of project strategy for assigned NPI programs [BTJ-200]. The Lead Manufacturing Program Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional manufacturing programs to deliver customer needs across the organization's production facilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Program Management

·       Provide leadership for assigned program including technical, cost, delivery and quality. Support the execution of overall program plans and translate plans into requirements and milestones for the operations team.

·       Leverages network to seek and understand areas of knowledge critical to execution of assigned responsibilities.

·       Responsible for creating program schedule and coordinate with departments to ensure successful delivery of hardware to internal and external customers. Ensuring the team delivers on time and on cost.

·       Relies on knowledge and expertise to assist in make vs. buy decisions for development program and influence design and sourcing strategies for successful execution.

·       Digest and flow customer requirements in the form of a manufacturing review and flow-down.

·       Flow down block changes / configuration requirements from engineering to manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

·       Hardware - Track parts moving through the process to ensure timely delivery to the next process and to the end customer.

·       Risks – Track program risk register (internally focused). Anticipate risks and project changes and suggest or execute risk mitigation actions.

·       Budget - Manage and track project budget to ensure under-budget delivery.

Cost of Goods Sold & Technology

·       COGS - Maintains current and accurate records of cost data for assigned program.

·       Owns the cost out program for the assigned program, working cross functionally to assign cost targets, generate cost out ideas, work through a business approval process, create cost out curves and track actuals.

·       Partner with CTO organization and evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.

Stakeholder Management

·       Communicate program status, risks, and results to senior leadership. Owns the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Master Plan (IMP).

·       Collaborate with suppliers and external partners on manufacturing initiatives related to assigned program.

·       Serves as manufacturing representative for PMB, Tollgate and Technical reviews for assigned program.

Team Leadership

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations.

·       Helps with priority setting of hardware through the operation/supply chain. Considers priorities of team members and ensures resources are aligned to meet project needs.
