CAPSLO is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at 40 Prado. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to clients, while maintaining high standards in food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, housekeeping, inventory, and recordkeeping. Your work directly supports CAPSLO’s mission by helping individuals gain the nourishment and stability they need to pursue employment and housing opportunities.
Qualifications:
• AA/BA in Food Services or other comparable degree, or comparable experience in food preparation.
• Valid Food Handler Certification.
• Experience cooking for large groups preferred, but not required.
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
As a Cook you will:
• Maintain food in safe and proper storage conditions in accordance with the County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department regulations.
• Keep the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Ensures the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned after meal service each day, in accordance with the County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department regulations.
