The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager/ Item Manager to support strategic mission systems within the Global Operations Center (GOC) at USSTRATCOM. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems through effective configuration management and item management practices. Tasked to design, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Configuration Manager / Item Manager, Senior:
Conducts annual inventory
Provides logistics management of all sparing densities for the program
Implements and administers the document control process that addresses TDLs
Guides documentation and review of CM findings and coordinates corrective actions
Monitors standards compliance (STIGs, Approved Products List, etc.), as well as change and release implementation
Evaluates baseline deviations and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
Recommends and uses automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures
Coordinates the release of Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notifications
Conducts Technical Review Board and Change Review Board meetings
Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into configuration items
Functions as a technical expert in configuration management
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others
Qualifications:
Required:
Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in configuration management and item management, preferably in a defense or military environment
Required 8140 Cert within 6 months: 802 - Basic; Approved DoD 8140 cyber-related certification; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
Additional Cert: ITIL 4 Foundations and/or ITIL 4 Managing Professional certification, or equivalent
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in CM tools and software
