Your Role as LIT Unit Head
As the LIT Unit Head, you’ll lead the way for our Leaders in Training, crafting a summer that inspires personal and professional growth. Working closely with the Camp Director, you’ll design and deliver engaging leadership programs, foster team building, and create a safe and supportive environment for teens to thrive.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and lead impactful leadership activities and professional development sessions.
Create a physically and emotionally safe environment where teens can connect and grow.
Provide thoughtful feedback to LITs, helping them develop their skills and confidence.
Plan and oversee team-building trips, field trips, and other special events.
Collaborate with staff to integrate LITs into broader camp activities.
Handle conflicts with care, fostering understanding and resolution.
Serve as a role model of professionalism and enthusiasm for LIT participants.
The Fine Print
Schedule:
June 15 – August 7 (with limited schedules to August 21)
Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm, with mandatory staff training from June 1 - June 12 (8am-4:00pm including an overnight).
Compensation: $934–$1,083 per week based on experience, plus overnight bonuses and free PJCC Athletic Center membership.
QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For:
Experience: Must be 21 years or older. 1-2 years of experience in education. Previous experience working with high school aged students.
Curriculum Development: Experience creating engaging educational materials incorporating Jewish themes.
Certifications: CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain during training).
Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse populations.
Camp Experience: Prior experience in a camp setting is a bonus.
Mandatory Events:
Open House June 10th 6:00-8:00pm
Staff Overnight Camping Trip June 12th
Family Pool Party June 24th 6:00-8:00pm
Family Shabbat Picnic July 31st 6:00-8:00pm
