Salary: $80k + up to $4k annual bonus for top performance. Schedule flexibility is required to cover peak hours, typically between 7 AM–3 PM or 10 AM–6 PM.
Your Mission:Your mission is to support the member experience at the bustling fitness center in a corporate office building with the highest level of customer service. This includes signing up members, handling questions about our member app, leading personal training sessions and group fitness classes, and maintaining a welcoming facility for all members.
The Legacy You’ll Leave:After your time in this role, you will have brought daily joy to the hundreds of members at your location. You created deep and meaningful relationships with the building’s management team, tenants, and external partners. Because of your work, your fitness center became a tenant focal point for renewing their leases and building ownership never wanted Playbook to leave.

What You're Responsible For:

  • Fitness Center Operations: Support the operational strategy and management of the fitness center, ensuring the operations work like a well-oiled machine. This may include: ordering locker room supplies, cleaning equipment, folding and restocking towels and laundry, opening and closing procedures, etc.
  • Fitness Center Services: Coordinate and administer personal training and small group training sessions within the fitness center. Plan and lead group fitness classes for the membership population. Provide timely and professional communication to members before and after sessions to ensure a hospitality-focused experience. 
  • Fitness Center Revenue Generation: Manage payment for memberships, sessions, and session packages, upselling and cross-selling where appropriate. Implement and maintain a revenue generation strategy to consistently meet or exceed revenue goals on a month-over-month basis.
  • Fitness Center Tours and Leasing Support: Support tours of the fitness center spaces to interested tenants, communicating Playbook’s offerings and private services throughout.
  • Member Satisfaction and Engagement: Prioritize tenant satisfaction by actively engaging with tenants to understand their needs and preferences. Implement innovative strategies and programs to enhance their experience, fostering a vibrant and connected community that drives long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Support Sports Courts Management: Support your Fitness Manager with the operations of your outdoor pickleball and basketball courts. Drive tenant engagement and satisfaction by organizing seasonal leagues and specialty programming utilizing the sports courts. Coordinate private rentals of sports courts for tenants, from booking requests through event execution, ensuring a hospitality-forward experience for all rentals.
  • Building Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the building maintenance and operations teams to ensure the facility is well-maintained.

Who You Are - Baseline Requirements:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a fitness center environment. You may have worked as an instructor at a boutique studio or a personal trainer at a commercial gym.
  • Experience managing recreational sports leagues or events is a nice-to-have.
  • You must have a valid Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization (NASM, ACE, or NSCA required).
  • CPR/AED + First Aid certifications or willingness to certify within 30 days of hire
  • Group fitness certification(s) and/or ability to teach multiple formats to groups of all sizes and fitness levels
  • You are proficient with both Google Suite (what Playbook uses) and Microsoft Office (what our clients use).  Don’t worry, you don’t need to be great at PowerPoint nor super savvy with Excel.
