Job Title: Director, Product Strategy
Department: Drug Product Development
Location (s): New Brunswick, Princeton Pike, Summit- NJ - US
Specific responsibilities include:
- Setting the strategic direction and manage a group of Product Strategy Core Team and multiple Product Strategy leads.
- Partner with internal teams including Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Product Development & CMC to help define the Quality Target Product Profile for assets.
- Partner with Commercial and Business Analytics groups to drive options analysis, valuations and business cases for new product technologies & features.
- Drive the development of a strong external and internal customer, patient and key opinion leader network to inform and set product strategy.
- Develop and manage an efficient and sustainable Technology and Innovation database which will be leveraged to capture, assess and prioritize technology assessments and track innovation programs.
- Identify strategic external partnerships for technology development in partnership with Business Development.
- Work closely with product development (ex. formulation, packaging, analytical, devices etc.) throughout the development process to help define key attributes and design inputs relating to customers and patients.
- Leverage clinical/patient/user/business/analytics input to strategically translate it into program-specific product requirements.
Qualifications
- BS in a biosciences, pharmaceutical science, engineering (mechanical, biomedical, chemical) discipline with 17 years of experience or MS with 15 years. Candidates with advanced degree and less years of experience will also be considered.
- MBA is a plus but not required.
- Technical knowledge and understanding in at least one of the following areas is preferred: (1) Drug delivery & device technologies, (2) drug product development, (3) customers, market and the competitive environment, or (4) data sciences & digital interfaces.
Other Dimensions
- Demonstrated understanding of design thinking approach used as part of the early technology and concept development.
- Understanding of methodologies used to capture industry trends, market dynamics, and the current and future state of the art.
- Demonstrated managerial skills and experience working within a matrix organization, leading and influencing cross-functionally is a must.
- Must be capable of influencing without authority and often working within ambiguity
- Excellent decision-making, written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating recommendations to matrix teams and senior leaders.
- Ability to strategically frame complex opportunities into manageable elements and convince cross-functional leaders of its merit and approach.
- Demonstrated ability to select talented people, build a team and develop a high performing organization.
