About the role

The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role in providing forward-thinking strategic financial guidance and support to Senior Leaders across various business units within the organization. This role serves as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, helping them understand and optimize financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive/influence informed, financially sound, decision-making in alignment with the overall Finance strategy.

  • Serves as a conduit of information between the business and Finance leadership, having broad knowledge of the overall business to understand its purpose, coupled with providing financial expertise to develop and advise on a tailored finance strategy.
  • Partner with business unit leaders and FP&A Managers to explore and interpret annual budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plans, and provide guidance as needed.
  • Support the development and evolution of decision-enabling financial tools and use them and other information such as data visualizations and storytelling to deliver financial information and educate stakeholders to improve their financial data literacy. Analyze and provide guidance on complex financial data and performance metrics from finance centers of excellence (COE) to develop insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with analytics team to direct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support specific strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business cases for new initiatives and projects, including cost/benefit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Monitor and report on financial KPIs and key business drivers, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial expertise and guidance to influence contract negotiations, vendor management, and other strategic partnerships.
  • Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry trends, to the extent these factors impact FINRA’s financial profile and operations. Help business unit leaders consider the broader financial implications of their decisions.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and other departments, fostering collaboration and alignment on financial goals and objectives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes, improve financial systems, and enhance overall performance.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, financial business partnering, or related roles.
  • Extensive/excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  •  Excellent collaboration abilities in working across a broad range of teams to drive progress and process improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with regulatory organizations or the financial services industry is a plus.

In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

California: Minimum Salary $171,900, Maximum Salary $351,200

Washington, DC/Maryland: Minimum Salary $171,900, Maximum Salary $336,600

Colorado/Hawaii/Minnesota/Vermont: Minimum Salary $149,600, Maximum Salary $292,600

New York, NY: Minimum Salary $179,600, Maximum Salary $351,200

Washington State: Minimum Salary $149,600, Maximum Salary $336,600
