What You’ll Do:
As an Experienced GC-MS Chemist in our laboratory, you will join our team in a cGMP, FDA-regulated environment to test a variety of raw materials and finished products from a variety of industries including consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. This role will primarily perform instrumentation methods including chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR) along with wet chemistry testing (titrations, distillations) as needed, ensuring the highest level of quality reporting to our clients. A portion of the role will also include R&D work using a GC-MS.
- Perform various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques while maintaining good scientific practices according to good manufacturing processes and regulatory agencies
- Execute chromatography and spectrophotometric analysis using HPLC, GC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, and other laboratory instrumentation
- Perform wet chemistry methods as needed, including titrations, distillations along with gravimetric and other techniques
- Meet all testing assignment deadlines and document all analysis in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform technical review/interpretation of test data and ensure validity of results
- Assist with method validations and verifications as needed
- Support investigations and CAPA plans as needed
- Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures
- Perform routine lab maintenance and housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe laboratory space
What You’ll Need:
- BS in Chemistry or related scientific discipline. We will also consider commensurate work experience in a GMP laboratory (FDA-regulated preferred).
- 4+ years’ laboratory experience performing analytical testing and working with HPLC and/or GC. Other analytical instrumentation experience may also be considered (e.g., ICP, AA).
- 2+ years’ experience using a GC-MS is mandatory. Experience in the R&D space is preferred.
- Ability to complete a respirator examination as per OSHA requirements.
- Experience in the consumer products, pharmaceuticals, or personal care industry is preferred.
- Experience technical problem-solving, routine and/or preventative instrument maintenance is preferred.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills such as communication, relationship building, initiative, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to be flexible and sensitive to changing priorities.
