This role is a full-time permanent position working Monday-Friday 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM.

 

What you will do as a Machine Operator:

 

  • Safety set up, operate, and maintain critical production equipment to ensure efficient running of production.
  • Inspect the worksite to ensure equipment is in normal and correct operating condition.
  • Report any product inconsistencies and work with maintenance to fix issues as they arise.
  • Observe and follow all rules and regulations to contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Perform and complete preventative maintenance (PMs) on machine(s).
  • Lifting and carrying boards and debris while exposed to dust contributes to the overall cleanliness of the site.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.

 

Experience and skills that will help you stand out:

 

  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to learn the Finger Joint production process including production quality and grading of lumber.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods of time including piling lumber, standing for long hours, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent forward and lateral reaching involving repetitive movements of the shoulders, elbows, and wrists.
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes exposure to environmental elements, moving mechanical equipment, loud noise, and dust.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus. Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers.
  • A high degree of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and succeed.
