Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the efficient, professional and profitable operation of the assigned venue. In addition to managing the day to day business operations, the General Manager solicits new sources of revenue, both on and off the venue property. Responsible for overall management, promotion, and operation of the facility, including construction, purchasing, policy administration, booking, marketing, finance, food and beverage, box office, advertising, security, production, maintenance, and related operations for an Arena/Complex. This position is responsible for the development, coordination and management of all aspects and strategies for the arena's entertainment events. 

 

The General Manager oversees $20M in revenue in NY, The Hamptons and Peak events. The General Manager oversees all facets of the business: sales, planning & production, service, execution, finance and HR. The position is supported by Corporate finance and HR teams. The General Manager is responsible for the strategic growth of the business. The General Manager is responsible for operating a cost-effective model, both at the Commissary unit and all events.

 

The position reports in to the RHC Managing Director.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $155,000-$160,000 and is bonus eligible

About the Venue

Events by RHC is a premium off premise events business located in Manhattan. It operates throughout the city and the Hamptons as well as being the exclusive provider for Peak Events, an event space on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards and events at Chelsea Square.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange for and otherwise book Events at the venue, develop and maintain relationships with reputable promoters, local market contacts, agents and talent affiliates to attract concerts, shows, entertainment events, etc.
  • Administration of specific plans and programs prescribed by corporate directives, to include: HR, Sales and Marketing, quality assurance, energy efficiency, safety/emergency procedures, crowd control and crisis management practices, or other areas as needed.
  • Generate for client/corporate in a timely manner financial and other reports detailing the arena activities.
  • Prepare a proposed annual Operating Budget and submit such proposed budget to client/corporate.
  • Oversee day to day operation, ensuring s technical and staff resource needs for all events, oversees plans for allocating those resources, and successfully manages their efficient implementation.
  • Provide final approval for all contracts and agreement.
  • Attend conferences and trade association meetings.
  • Full operational responsibility for Events by RHC and Peak events operations.
  • Lead sales, marketing, service, culinary and logistics departments successfully.
  • Accountable for the achievement of financial targets for top line revenue and OCF in line with department budgets.
  • Perform all financial forecasting and modeling on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Foster and always maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Take the lead in all Marketing and PR campaigns to drive visibility, exposure and produce sales.
  • Anticipate client’s needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
  • Maintain a healthy, happy, and productive work environment to foster loyalty and dedication.
  • Keep Managing Director promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action.
