Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager, Biosimilars Business Unit
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role, you will facilitate timely, transparent, and accurate management of the business unit’s external expense budget. Responsibilities include negotiating supplier budgets and contracts across multiple functions within the Biosimilars Division, including Commercial and R&D among others, competitively sourcing services as applicable; overseeing Purchase Order (PO) execution in compliance with financial and budgetary procedures, including initiating requisitions, facilitating the approval process, and enabling PO execution; monitoring contracts throughout the service period and amending, including liaising and negotiating with suppliers and internal customers; manage invoice approval issues; tracking and reporting spend against budgets; and managing external supplier relationships. Coordinates among all Biosimilars cross-functional leads, Finance, Global Strategic Sourcing, Buying Center, Accounts Payable, and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Regularly updated and accurate expense trackers, providing transparency of external expenses within the Biosimilars Division;
Lead cross-functional team in the timely development, negotiation, and execution of CRO partner contracts to support the global development portfolio
Provide ongoing oversight of the Analytical Reference Product procurement process, working with the Strategic Planning & Operations team to ensure that the quarterly RFP process is executed, budget approvals and POs are issued in a timely manner, and orders are tracked appropriately to meet the needs of the Analytical team
Various ad-hoc budget-related analyses: quarter-end accrual analysis, variance analysis, management reporting, etc.
Budget training and accounting guidance to the Biosimilars team, ensuring that all contractual and expense transactions are compliant with Amgen guidelines, SOPs, and accounting principles.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of sourcing, contracting and/or finance experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of sourcing, contracting and/or finance experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of sourcing, contracting and/or finance experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of sourcing, contracting and/or finance experience
Or
High school diploma or GED and 12 years of sourcing, contracting and/or finance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of budget and contract negotiation/management
8+ years of work experience in life sciences or medically related field
Knowledge of clinical trial requirements and processes, ideally obtained through working on industry-sponsored global clinical trials
Working knowledge of accounting and relevant finance-related regulations and corporate compliance standards
Experience critically evaluating processes and establishing creative solutions
Project scheduling and budgeting expertise
Developing and building effective client and internal team relationships
