Job Description

As a Security Officer - Warehouse Site - Full Time in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a retail or mall location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the premises. By remaining visible and approachable, you will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff. You will also be expected to communicate clearly and respond promptly to any security-related concerns or incidents. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control measures at the retail or mall location.
• Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity within the premises.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter potential issues and maintain a visible presence.
• Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate, coordinating with Allied Universal and site management as needed.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or concerns according to site procedures.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to support a welcoming environment while maintaining security-related standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
