Job Description
📍 Location: Remote, based within the West Coast USA territory
🌍Travel: 50–70%, domestic and occasional international
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead sales efforts for recycling sorting capital equipment across the West Coast USA region. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong technical background and a passion for sustainability and innovation. You will work independently while collaborating with a diverse, international team to drive growth and customer success.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets in the West Coast USA region.
- Identify and engage with potential customers in the recycling and waste management sectors.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, needs analysis, solution presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Provide technical consultation and product demonstrations to customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams (CPM, service, etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
- Represent TOMRA at industry events, trade shows, and conferences throughout the West Coast region.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in capital equipment sales, preferably within recycling, waste management, or industrial automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex machinery and sensor-based systems.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently while managing a large multi-state territory.
- Willingness to travel 50–70% throughout the region, with occasional international travel.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, including recycling and waste facilities, and in varying climate conditions (hot/cold, indoor/outdoor).
- Experience selling to or knowledge of the waste and recycling industry is a strong advantage.
