The Opportunity 

 

This role will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to ensure that the facility is up to the required standards; identify and implement process optimization projects and lead the training and development for the Maintenance and Engineering department. This permanent position will report to the Maintenance Superintendent.  Essential functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Maintain and service plant equipment and facilities and develop solutions needed for any issues that may arise while ensuring adherence to safety principles and practices.
• Plan, assign and direct work of employees and provide performance feedback addressing any complaints, resolving issues and appraising performance(s).
• Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates.
• Support in the training and development of Engineering and Maintenance Training requirements including training budget, new hire orientation, and conduct audits to ensure compliance per SOPs and training plan.
• Create, modify and manage work orders in the inventory management system (SAP)
• Provide performance coaching to maintenance technicians.

   The Skills you will bring to the team

• Associate’s degree in maintenance or related field; or a minimum of two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understanding of TMP or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• SAP experience (or similar) is preferred but not required.   
• Provide leadership to others through examples and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to deal with a variety of concrete variables.   
• Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures and ability to lead team to adhere to them.

Where and how you will work  

The opportunity will be based in St. Johns, MI.  This role is for day shift, 8a-5p with flexibility to cover during other times based on business needs. (more details about the shift schedule will be shared by your recruiting team)
