We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer in this organization, you will be involved in the development of state-of-the-art communications systems to support UAVs, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, and ground vehicles. We build robust networks that implement low latency and high throughput communications that include anti-jamming capabilities, mobile adhoc features and IP connectivity. This position is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available to qualified applicants.
What You Will Do
- YOU will drive software development and integration on complex multi-threaded embedded C and C++ product software code bases
- YOU will support the design and development of embedded software solutions and communications products
- YOU will contribute to project team activities related to the specification of requirements, software implementation, test case development, verification test execution, and certification support
- YOU will provide mentorship to software developers in technical and process-related areas
- YOU will develop, integrate, and test enhancements and bugfixes to software defined Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) terminals
Qualification You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers in person and through technology
- Must have previous experience working on a capable terminal
- Must have familiarity with MUOS MILSTD conformance test procedures and their execution
Qualifications We Prefer
- Knowledge and\or experience in communications systems and multi-threaded embedded application software engineering development and integration
- Experience with TDMA, mobile adhoc network (MANET), IP, and other networking and communication protocols
- Experience working on an Agile team
