About the role
Are you a web wiz? How about Display banner ads? Total Wine & More is looking for a strong Creative Manager (Art Director) to join our Marketing Department and lead design development for web and display digital channels within our marketing-dedicated creative team. But that’s not all…you’ll also have a hand in creating our seasonal design concepts, dabble in photo/video production, and impact the look and feel of our brand across all channels. We are looking for a versatile individual who excels as a designer, strategist, art director, manager, and is an outstanding team player. Internally, your job title will be called Creative Manager, Web & Display. You will report to the Sr. Creative Manager, Digital Marketing. You will · Lead the development of all web and display/retargeting ad assets consistent with brand standards and defined schedules· Provide hands-on design for a minimum of 30% of the digital assets that pass through the web and display/retargeting creative team· Participate in and/or design select creative strategy programs to support seasonal, new product launches and marketing initiatives that support all business channels (print & digital)· Stay abreast of industry standards and design trends. Help define best practices and propose up to date solutions to help drive the business forward· Manage a team of two designers providing creative direction, project management, day-to day leadership and personal growth opportunities· Partner with internal stakeholders, including marketing partners, copywriters, production team members and other designers to deliver great creative and successful results as a team· Work with outside resources to create select projects guiding brand cohesion and completion of work in a timely manner· Effectively manage and communicate work in progress, intent, issues, etc… as appropriate· Proactively define, improve and record best practices and process within the creative team· Participate in any special projects as assigned
You will come with
- A strong sense of design with proven history designing for web and display ads
- A degree in Art, Graphic Design, Digital Design or similar and/or equivalent work experience with demonstrated excellence
- 7-10 years design experience in an internal or agency setting with focus on marketing communications
- 2-3 years of management experience in a creative setting
- Experience planning and directing photo shoots (lifestyle and product)
- Have a consistent ability to absorb a brief, understand audiences, build a vision, move fast, and get results
- Experience in brand standard compliance: Align, unify, and maintain consistent communication elements across marketing activities.
- Ability to iterate and pivot quickly. Need to articulate ideas on the fly
- Proficient at managing multiple projects and prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands and aggressive deadlines
- The ability to work across multiple media types while recognizing channel capabilities and limitations
- An endless imagination and can creatively pitch fresh approaches to drive brand growth. Possess strong visual storytelling skills to bring product promotions to life in an engaging way
- Thorough attention to detail and able to provide clear and objective critiques of creative work
- Strong team player who actively contributes, collaborates, and supports the success of the team
- Retail experience a plus
- Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects)
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of Figma or Sketch
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of UX/UI design principles and best practices
