What You Will Do:
The Engineering Business Strategy organization is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to join its team as a Deputy, Engineering Business Strategy Leader. This role is a challenging and rewarding career development and broadening opportunity for the right individual looking for a career in Engineering Business and Strategy, Finance or Program Management. The deputy will be responsible for various aspects of managing and leading the Long Range Planning and OMM business cycles for Engineering. This will include but not limited to:
- Goal Alignment - Partner with Core Domain leaders to develop Improvement Targets to support 1yr, 3yr, 5yr plans
- Responsible for developing and maintaining elements of Engineering Long Range Planning cycles consistent with overall engineering financial and strategies including capital plans
- Partner with organization executives and leaders, finance, business managers, global engineering sourcing and HR to drive consistency in process and execution of global engineering headcount, staffing, priorities and financial balance between engineering organizations.
- Responsible for regular reporting and management of financial, headcount, staffing, workscope deliverables and productivity data consistently across engineering organizations
- Responsible for program and discipline health to ensure all programs are appropriately staffed with required technical capability or partner with orgs and programs to develop gap closure plans
- Management of Tiered Accountability process including running Gemba meetings with engineering leadership, setting agenda, cadence and working with key stakeholders on actions and closure
- Productivity Initiative Leadership and management responsibilities including: Institutionalization of productivity initiatives, working with leadership to Policies & Procedures, Document Roles & Responsibilities, and driving Process & Automation
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience
- Deep knowledge and experience with P&W and engineering business cycles including Goal Alignment, LRP and OMM.
- Ability to set strategy and executable plans and familiarity with business process toolsets including SAP, Dassian, Business Warehouse, OneView to be able to obtain financial and staffing data and determine risks and opportunities for engineering organizations.
- 10% Travel
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in aerospace and defense or similar industries.
- Knowledge of business process including finance, resource management, global engineering sourcing and HR processes
