Entry-Level Manufacturing Technician

Responsibilities & Expectations: 

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for preparing transformers for painting by sanding them with a dual action orbital sander. This position requires the use of a respirator and includes forklift operation training. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all transformers are prepped and finished to quality standards.

•        Sand transformers using dual action orbital sander
•        Wear and properly maintain safety equipment, including a respirator
•        Operate a forklift as needed (training provided)
•        Scrape old stickers off transformers to prepare for painting
•        Tape off areas that do not require painting to ensure precision
•        Apply body filler and rust prevention products to damaged or worn surfaces
•        Perform stenciling on transformers as needed
•        Place and install data tags and stickers
•        Assist in the installation of 3-phase cabinets
•        Replace transformer parts as necessary

*This is an entry-level position which has the opportunity to learn and grow into other positions.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment a plus but not required
• Familiarity with sanding and body fillers and rust prevention materials a plus
• Experience with forklift operation a plus or willingness to be trained in forklift operation
• Must be able to wear a respirator during work hours
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment
• Attention to detail for prep work
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team
• Physical ability to handle tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting
• Other duties as assigned
