Position PurposeThe Assistant Controller will support the Director of Finance and Controller in the preparation of monthly financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. This role will supervise key positions of the accounting team and ensure they deliver an accurate and consistent product for key stakeholders within the organization including the management teams of each hotel as well as the CIM Corporate Finance Team.
Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Las Vegas is $80,000 - $110,000.

Position PurposeThe Assistant Controller will support the Director of Finance and Controller in the preparation of monthly financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. This role will supervise key positions of the accounting team and ensure they deliver an accurate and consistent product for key stakeholders within the organization including the management teams of each hotel as well as the CIM Corporate Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting all aspects of accounting management to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and income audit processes.
- Assist in the formulation and adherence of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices and GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Manage and review journal entries and perform monthly flux analysis of the income statement and balance sheet.
- Oversee and review all assigned balance sheet reconciliations for yourself and those that report directly to you.
- Participate in consistent and ongoing preparation for both internal and external audits.
- Working under the guidance of the controller, you will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems.
- As an organized professional with keen mindfulness, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Ensure that the company’s accounting and financial processes meet established standards, promoting accurate financial reporting and effective internal controls.
- Reporting to the controller, you will be an integral part of the finance team.
Additionally:
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance degree
- Experience as staff accounting and assistant controller in hotel industry
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from tenants, regulatory
- Demonstrate proficiency in ERP system such as Sun System/Infor, Micros, and HMS
- Public accounting and certified financial certificate experience preferred
