Job Summary

The Data Visualization analyst is responsible for gathering requirements from business partners, determining the best way to "tell the story” with data, and building dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and presentations as appropriate. This person plays a crucial role in analyzing data to provide valuable insights and support decision-making within the organization. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to advise on best data practices, deliver dashboards and reports, and provide actionable insights.

Job Responsibilities

• Extracting and evaluating data from multiple internal databases
• Responsible of operation & maintenance of reports & KPIs
• Able to design/develop industry-leading data visualizations based on an understanding of common and more fine-grained data visualization/representation challenges, data problems, and eventually, relating to the use cases of our current/prospective customers.
• Understands the tradeoffs between graphics paradigms and speaking multiple visualization grammars, and how they relate to the data we have and that we’re trying to represent. (Recognizing that we have scales and what it means when these data oppose each other on different axis.)
• In this role, you will lead data-driven decision making with the team about which languages, frameworks, and libraries we should use to visualize customer data that is best matched to the twin challenges of exploratory data analysis and analytic presentation.
• Cultivate your knowledge and help educate our team in your areas of expertise.
• Bring a critical eye to our work, and patience to refine it with us until we meet the required your standards.
• Create analytics reports and dashboards to provide valuable, relevant business insights for different stakeholders.
• Clean and transform data using Power BI's Query Editor to prepare ETL processes to optimize reporting datasets.
• Create data models and tables within Power BI to support efficient, optimized data warehousing and reporting workflows.
• Additional projects or tasks as assigned by my manager.
   

Qualifications

• B.S or BA in computer science, data science, mathematics or related technical degree
• 4+ years of experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tool and knowledge of best practices within data visualization and user experience. (DAX, Power Query, MDX, Dataflows, Semantic Layer, Datasets & Modeling, Scheduled Automatic Refresh and Scheduling refresh in Power BI services)
• 3+ Proficient in SQL; ability to write queries optimally and familiarity with complex calculations. Understanding data flow, source transformation destination – ETL-, Data Modeling, Stored Procedures, Consultations.
• Familiar with the Agile/SCRUM methodology
• Deep domain expertise of data science, statistical analysis, and data visualization
   

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Know the Power BI environment and its disciplines (data integration, data modeling and reporting)
• Create Data Flows from different sources for analysis.
• Create connections to different data sources through Power BI Services
• Data modeling and mapping, semantic layer generation and standardization
• Design high-impact reports/dashboards and choose the ideal visualization based on the customer’s needs
• Optimize down to the smallest detail so that their reports take up less space.
• Attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy.
• Ability to support complex analysis in understandable forms to business stakeholders.
• Analytical, self-administered, proactive.
• Articulated (Good oral and written communication)
