Position Summary

Develop tools and processes that enables the organization to effectively monitor and control operational activities. Guides lab leaders on best practices to ensure tests run smoothly through the process and meets client timelines. Provide direction, guidance, and support to the Report Generation staff and ensure timely delivery of services for the functions provided within the department of Support Services.

 

Major Roles & Responsibilities

PRODUCTION CONTROL

  • Ensures organization has proper tools and processes to ensure production is meeting established timelines that meet the client’s expectations.
  • Develops tools/techniques and trains lab managers on best practices in production control methodology.
  • Facilitates production control meetings and assists managers through issue resolution.
  • Develops visual management tools that monitors production control status.
  • Escalates as needed to ensure leadership is apprised of process flow issues or delivery risks.

 

SUPPORT SERVICES/REPORT GENERATION

  • Leads team that assembles final technical reports and invoices for client tests completed in the lab.
  • Distributes workload and readjusts resources within team, as necessary, to ensure workload is completed in a timely manner. 
  • Works with necessary labs to communicate any issues.  Also includes acting as back-up to direct reports.
  • Tracks metrics for Report Generation (i.e. revisions, credits, discrepancies, etc.), and report, address and put corrective actions in place to resolve issues within and outside of the department.
  • Writes, reviews, and updates administrative procedures for department.
  • Liaisons with IT and Global Operational Excellence for ongoing automation process efforts.
  • Works in conjunction with lab staff to develop and maintain current reporting of standards, regulations, and client specifications/requirements. Ensures compliance with global standards.
  • Works with other department leadership to provide feedback to site leaders regarding departmental systems, processes and recommendations for improvements and cost savings to achieve site wide goals. 
  • Ensures staff hiring and development, including performance evaluation, goal setting, training, and coaching for performance excellence.
  • Monitors the work environment for safety hazards and promptly recommend or take action to address all concerns in accordance with location safety procedures.
  • Assists Manager in executing the budget, helping to ensure achievement through controlling expenses, meeting revenue, and forecasting potential issues.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current client specifications/requirements.
  • Provides training for new requirements, services offerings, or technologies.
  • Follows the guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • All other tasks as necessary

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to organize / prioritize individual and team workload to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Strong analytical / problem solving / process improvement skills
  • Must be advanced in Microsoft Word and Excel, Proficient in PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated Production Control experience
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to maintain client
