This position reports directly to the Chemical Operations Manager.

 

The Lead Maintenance Specialist is responsible for coordinating maintenance and Operations activities in an assigned area of the facility. This role coordinates and schedules daily maintenance activities by managing regulatory, project, production, and safety system activities to provide a productive maintenance program and to ensure the reliability of operating equipment. Supports area Turnarounds, Start-Ups, and Shutdowns by ensuring needed resources are available to support operations and maintenance and groups as needed. Interacts regularly with unit operators. Provides guidance and advice on unit maintenance and reliability. Listens actively to unit operators concerning reliability or equipment issues. Communicates effectively to schedule maintenance downtime to assure minimal impact to production. Interacts daily with area maintenance planners and schedulers to assure timely and effective completion of maintenance activities.

 

What you will do:

 

•    Comply with all safety standards, policies and procedures
•    Prioritize work for the maintenance group 
•    Use a proactive versus reactive approach, which includes responsibility for root cause failure analysis completion and equipment deficiency removals to

      increase reliability

•    Review and approve work requests and assigns appropriate priorities for maintenance work to be performed--this includes ensuring adequate information is included

     on the work request and work order
•    Develop & maintain outage lists
•    Support and enforce the work management process to ensure consistency across the site--this includes leading all daily, weekly planning meetings, backlog reviews

     etc.
•    Assist operations' personnel as needed in the preparation of equipment for maintenance activities
•    Assist in overseeing plant operation and the direction of personnel in day to day activities
•    Work hand-in-hand with area Production General Supervisors.  If appropriate, assumes this role in their absence
•    Assist Lead Production Specialist in writing daily operating guidelines
•    Responsible for prioritizing, administering all maintenance work by unit personnel including emergency work
•    Ensure MOC’s are approved before work begins when an MOC is required
•    Provide input for developing operating and maintenance budgets
•    Focus on pre-planning versus reactive planning
•    Track and improve mean time between failures
•    Responsible for PM compliance and routine evaluation/tracking for critical PM’s
•    Review critical maintenance KPI’s and setting action plans for improvement
•    Notify area Superintendent of any overtime needed with detailed explanation of need
•    Responsible for compliance with PSV’s, vessel inspections, piping inspections, CUI, lifting devices, etc.
•    Audit all safety check lists and unit record retention
•    Focus on continuous improvement of plant reliability and work efficiency through proactive planning and execution.
•    Review maintenance and operational work execution performance through analysis of job delays and job execution
•    Support activities to ensure compliance with FDA / FSMA regulations and specific product certification programs (NSF/ANSI Standard 60, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal,

     FSC36, SF/SF, etc.) as it applies to food grade and feed grade phosphate products manufactured at the Aurora site

•   Accountable for budgetary items and labor costs associated with scheduling
