As a Principal Platform Environments Manager, you will Provide the overall management and administration of the team’s SW development life cycle (SDLC) environments, from development to staging and production. The role’s responsibility is to provide support to the design, development, implementation, and integration of a predominantly cloud based computer/network/storage infrastructure, as well as support to modernizing the program platform’s over-arching design. In conjunction with general environmental support, this role involves managing the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of all non-production and platform environments to ensure they are stable, scalable, and secure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
NOTE This position will be filled onsite at the Raytheon Facility in Aurora CO.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of all Platform environments, including provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and retirement
- Work closely with SW Release Management, Development, and QA teams to schedule and coordinate the deployment of application builds and releases
- You will provide Factory Environment management Support as the Scrum Master/Deputy for the system administrators on the program
- Define and enforce platform environment management policies, processes, and standards to ensure consistency, security, and stability
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all environments, including configurations, dependencies, and known issues
- Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for environment availability, stability, and resource utilization
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environment-related issues, leading to the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and configuration problems
- Oversee data refreshes, backups, and restores for non-production environments to ensure test data is relevant and secure
- Proactively identify and recommend improvements to environment management processes and tools, with a focus on a DevOps approach
- Foster strong working relationships with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure all environmental needs are met
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics with a minimum of 8 years of related work experience
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)
- Experience with troubleshooting applications & infrastructure services on Linux based Operating Systems
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and modern agile/DevOps methodologies
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI issued security clearance is required after day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD Pipelines tools (E.g. Jira, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab)
- Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with RedHat Linux
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT level II requirements
