About the role

JOB SUMMARY 

The REP, PHY SVC CHARGE ENTRY team is responsible for posting charges and demographic information into the Conifer Health Solutions billing system in order to create invoices for billing.  The core responsibilities of a REP, PHY SVC CHARGE ENTRY are to accurately and efficiently enter charges based on encounter forms received from multiple physician practices and hospitals.  This position requires knowledge of invoice creation and completion.  It also requires multiple systems knowledge and analysis.  As a REP, PHY SVC CHARGE ENTRY, you are responsible for working edits and interface which requires knowledge of the utility and TES.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and sort source documents; identify and interpret data to be entered (For example: co-pay sheets, charge sheets, demographic information, insurance information)
  • Enter alphabetic, numeric or symbolic data such as CPT codes, Diagnostic codes, date of service, name and date of birth of patient, and payment information into the computer, following the format displayed on screen.
  • Compile, sort and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
  • Verify patient information (For example: date of birth, address, insurance information, and guarantor).
  • Confirm that necessary forms are accompanying payment information (For example: charge-offs, discount sheets).
  • Contact senior-level REP, PHY SVC CHARGE ENTRY  Clerk to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data.
  • Work regularly with various systems/software, work files and documentation to cross-map and test processes or troubleshoot issues.
  • Track user errors and provide feedback to Managers in a professional manner.
  • Provide guidance, instruction or orientation to other (Level 1) team members and ensure that the necessary training and/or corrections are taking place.
  • Cooperate and communicate with other teams, such as: IT/Programmers, Client Executives, Client Implementations and Client Site Managers.
  • Meet deadlines and perform other projects as assigned by managers.

Conifer requires its candidates, as applicable and as permitted by law, to obtain and provide confirmation of all required vaccinations and screenings prior to the start of employment.  This may include, but is not limited to, the COVID-19 vaccination, influenza vaccination, and/or any future required vaccines and screenings.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Insurance/Healthcare and/or previous Data Entry responsibilities
  • Strong data entry skills; ability to input a high volume of information 
  • Attention to detail – ability to maintain speed while upholding accuracy
  • Ability to perform analysis and make recommendations. (For example: selecting, combining or rearranging data to arrive at a logical conclusion.  Or, sorting data or creating a chart to reveal facts about the data)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
  • Experienced using various billing software such as IDX, ADS, TES, BAR
  • Knowledgeable regarding Interface, REG RUNS, Utilities, work files, edits, return tickets, and charge corrections
