Assistant Teaching Professor - General Chemistry

Description
The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include oversight of the Chemistry Discovery Center and instruction of introductory chemistry lab and lecture courses. This position offers the potential for pedagogical innovation in a collaborative team of experienced, pedagogy-driven faculty. Additional associated responsibilities include instruction, oversight of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, student assessment, and service on one or more departmental committees based on the candidate’s expertise and/or interest and departmental needs.
Qualifications
We seek a candidate with a strong background in chemistry/biochemistry instruction and innovative teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Additionally, a strong candidate will exhibit a demonstrated commitment to UMBC’s values of inclusive excellence. A successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of an M.S. degree required.
