Where the chemistry happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division supporting our Manufacturing team at the McIntosh, Alabama site.  In this position you will provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations.  It serves as the primary leader and mentorship of shift operations personnel in a union environment. This position is responsible for daily EHS compliance and execution of the production plans while maintaining product quality standards. Additionally, the position has shared, rotational responsibility for the site Incident Command.

During your 12hr. shift as a Contact Supervisor/Incident Commander, you will

- Ensure safe operation within plant procedures and in accordance with EHS regulations, company policy and legal
requirements.
- Ensure compliance with site regulatory training requirements for operating personnel.
- Manage and ensure proper process training of operating personnel.
- Ensure the safe maintenance of the unit equipment using established safety procedures (safe work permit, LOTO,
confined space, etc.)
- Maintain housekeeping at a high standard, including equipment safety inspections
- Perform unit inspections, self-assessments, and coordinate corrective actions from inspections, investigations, and
audits
- In case of emergency, support and/or act as the Incident Commander
- Coordinate day to day interaction of maintenance and operations in the unit to meet quality, yield and schedule
requirements
- Supervise shift operators and manage labor/tasks to ensure unit targets are met (overtime/fixed costs, housekeeping,
equipment utilization, etc.)
- Monitor the technical operation of the unit and coordinate issues with operational/technical/management personnel.
- Promote safe and efficient operation, using leadership/motivational skills and disciplinary procedures
- Help define and promote Autonomous Maintenance and provide or coordinate appropriate level of training.
- Maximize autonomous maintenance (trained and capable) when coordinating work
- Manage discretionary spending

• Demonstrated technical process skills (unit operations/equipment fundamentals).
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Demonstrated communication skills
• Must have knowledge and understanding of Safe Work Permitting, Hot Work, Lockout/Tagout, Line Breaking, and Job
Hazard Analysis.
• Computer literacy; SAP knowledge is desirable, but can be a developmental skill.
• Must demonstrate the following competencies: Peer Relationships, Negotiating, Priority Setting, Analytical Thinking,
Teamworking, Striving for Achievement, Leading Employees to Success, Strategic Agility, Innovativeness
