Job Description

Role: Data Center Network Manager

Duration: 12 + Months

Location: Onsite (Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Dallas, Birmingham or Phoenix)

You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of the network infrastructure. This is a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of the network, supporting the organization's IT operations and business objectives.

Network Design and Architecture:

Lead the design and architecture of the data center network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into network design specifications.

Implementation and Deployment:

Oversee the implementation of network solutions, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure successful deployment of network hardware and software.

Network Security:

Implement and enforce security measures to protect the data center network from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Collaborate with the security team to develop and implement network security policies and procedures.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

Implement network monitoring tools and processes to ensure the availability and performance of the data center network.

Conduct regular maintenance activities, firmware upgrades, and troubleshoot network issues promptly.

Capacity Planning:

Perform capacity planning for the data center network, anticipating growth and ensuring that network resources meet current and future demands.

Recommend and implement upgrades to support increased capacity and performance.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and processes.

Provide documentation for troubleshooting, incident response, and disaster recovery.

Team Leadership:

Lead a team of network engineers and technicians, providing mentorship, guidance, and training.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in network management, with a focus on data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software, including Cisco, Juniper, or other relevant technologies.
• Experience with network security practices and tools.
• Solid understanding of data center operations and infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are desirable.
