Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an HRIS Analyst at our Corporate office in Richmond, Virginia. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of UKG, Carpenter’s HRIS, ensuring that all modules meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the HR department and management.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.  The successful candidate will be expected to configure, test and maintain UKG Pro including Pro, Recruiting, Onboarding and Learning.

Additional responsibilities of the HRIS Analyst will include:

  • Collaborate with HR staff and organizational leadership to determine the short- and long-term HR department and system objectives; develops a plan to modify HRIS modules to meet those objectives.
  • Assesses current system and utilization; identifies and recommends improvements such as training, customization, and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of the HRIS.
  • Review and tests system updates. 
  • Prepare reports from HRIS for internal and external use.  
  • Help prepare training materials, guides, and documentation.
  • Provide user training and hands-on support.
  • Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR policies and employment laws as well as trends and developments in HRIS technology.
  • Assist with HR audits as needed.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, HR or related field 
  • 3+ years of experience with UKG or other HR business systems
  • HR certification a plus
  • Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Ability to synthesize complex HR situations and apply policies and/or employment law. 
  • Advanced BI and report building capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to keep information confidential. 
  • Thorough understanding of UKG or other HRIS product(s) and system design and ability to configure system(s) to meet business requirements.
