As our Standardization Manager, you will be an important leader working cross-functionally to standardize our back-end operations for all customers nationally. This effort stands to significantly accelerate healthcare’s accessibility, affordability, and efficiency. Here’s what you will experience working as a Standardization Manager:

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to assess current state operations against our documented standard operating model.

  • Utilize your expertise in billing, accounts receivables, denials, cash posting, and credit resolution to build consensus on standardization initiatives and prioritization for performance improvement.

  • Act as a champion for change and standardization to increase efficiency and streamline operations.

  • Drive standardization of policies, queue management, and reporting functions.

  • Participate in strategy development as a thought leader as well as a content expert.

  • Assist operational counterparts and customers in optimizing the use of R1’s playbook across complex back-end revenue cycle operations

  • Lead the work of analysts on your team, as well as through example and influence across other functional teams, toward common goals and objectives

  • Oversee and coordinate revenue enhancement initiatives and business operations across all aspects of the revenue cycle for client hospitals. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of operational experience in hospital billing, AR follow-up, denials, cash posting, and credits.

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading complex revenue cycle operational teams, especially in a centralized setting.

  • Experience working across cross-functional teams within revenue cycle functions strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal, with ability to engage effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex changes with a variety of interdependent pieces 

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • Resilient, self-motivated, pragmatic team player who is process oriented with a critical eye for detail 

  • Outstanding time and project management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while remaining self-directed.

  • Demonstrated experience in denial management and prevention, including root cause analysis

  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare EDI data such as 837s, 835s, 277, 270,  clinicals, etc

  • Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or other EHR/RCM systems

  • Proven ability to look at the world through the eyes of others and interpret business needs in a way that drives the success of others

  • Attention to detail, highly organized and strong process-focused aptitude

  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills and can positively influence others

  • Ability to think creatively, be analytically minded, objective and independent

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and data analysis

  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, and generative AI a plus
