Your journey starts now—innovate and excel with ManTech!ManTech seeks a motivated, career-focused, and customer-oriented Senior UX Designer & Usability Lead to join an on-site team in either: Falls Church, VA, San Antonio, TX, Aurora, CO, or Tacoma, WA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the planning, design, and validation of user experience (UX) across a portfolio of government websites, portals, and applications used across the Military Health System (MHS) and its global user base.
Apply human-centered design (HCD) principles to improve usability, accessibility, information architecture, and content strategy across a variety of secure intranet and public-facing platforms.
Conduct and oversee user analysis, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, wireframing, and prototyping using modern UX tools and methods.
Collaborate with product owners, developers, and site maintenance staff to ensure usability improvements are feasible, measurable, and aligned with mission goals.
Provide mentoring and hands-on quality assurance to other designers, content strategists, and accessibility specialists, promoting consistent design standards and measurable outcomes.
Support modernization by identifying opportunities for automation, personalization, and improved user journeys on both legacy and newly deployed systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive experience in UX design or usability engineering, including hands-on work on complex, multi-system websites and applications.
Bachelor’s degree (in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Psychology, Information Systems, Design, or other relevant discipline).
Strong knowledge of usability best practices including methods such as task-based testing, A/B testing, card sorting, participatory design, and clickstream analysis; with the ability to translate findings quickly into actionable UX enhancements to improve navigation, clarity, and task completion.
Demonstrated experience using design and research tools such as Miro, Otter.ai, Figma, Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Optimal Workshop, UserTesting Platform, or equivalent tools.
Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) UX Certification or equivalent recognized industry certification.
