Role Overview:

The Production Supervisor assures the consistent achievement of the production schedule, safely and to ensure the on-time delivery of quality product to our customers The Production Supervisor must execute the production plan and supervise the Team Leads, and hourly associates throughout the shift. The Production Supervisor must be able to oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output of leads and associates working on their team. Accountable and responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes. The Production Supervisor is also expected to work closely with other functions within the facility to execute plant-wide initiatives.

Work Environment: University Park, IL Onsite M-F 6am-2:30pm CST 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and professional standards within a facility
  • Supervising operations within a facility to achieve higher output and to ensure optimum efficiency
  • Monitors daily productions and quality control performance records, identifying inefficiencies and taking responsive and corrective actions where necessary assisting in all aspects on the production floor
  • Work with team to develop daily work schedule and provide steps to make necessary adjustments to workflow/schedule.
  • Lead, mentor, and participate in OpEx Lean; Standard Daily Work in cell, daily Tier 1 meetings, TPM, and CI continuous improvement projects. 
  • Coordinates and monitors flow of production orders for the floor; able to forecast work and notice potential problems in workflow
  • Develops and implements strategies and training toward accomplishing organization goals and values
  • Leads by example: Sets expectations for staff and monitors delegated activities
  • Provides regular performance feedback and effective training to staff for skill development and growth
  • Work with other supervisors, quality and manufacturing engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve various problems affecting the group involving design, quality, equipment, materials, work assignments and operating difficulties.
  • Work with employees and strive for a continuous improvement environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Competencies for Success:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 4 years of manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years formal operations management experience
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes
  • Ability to write reports legibly and accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, train and check work of others.

  • This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, performance management, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees. 

Pay range: $90k-$110k
