Job Description Summary

The Head of Quality Control (QC) position is a full-time football operations and on-field support position responsible for providing advanced analytical, video, scouting, and game-planning assistance to the Head Coach and Coordinators. The Head of QC plays a critical role in opponent analysis, self-scout, practice preparation, weekly game operations, and day-to-day program support.
This position significantly enhances the program’s competitive preparation, organizational efficiency, and strategic decision-making while supporting the holistic development of student-athletes within the University of Pennsylvania’s rigorous academic environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support coaches in planning sport specific skills and strategies for current student athletes at practice and competition. Assist with daily and weekly practice scripts and organizational materials. Coordinate film cut-ups aligned with practice emphasis and teaching points. Support installation periods by preparing position-specific teaching materials.
  • Break down opponent game film using approved video platforms. Identify tendencies, personnel groupings, situational data, and schematic trends. Prepare written scouting reports, cut-ups, and visual teaching tools for coaches and players. Assist Coordinators with third-down, red-zone, goal-line, and two-minute analysis. Support weekly game-planning meetings.
  • Assist coaches and staff in identifying national caliber athletes for enrollment at the University. Identify and properly vet prospects of strong character, academic ability, and athletic skill. Evaluate Help organize and coordinate official and unofficial visits. 
  • Assist coaches with real-time video, analytics, and situational data during games. Manage sideline or booth support responsibilities as assigned (within NCAA rules). Prepare halftime adjustments materials and in-game tendency updates. Support post-game film organization and immediate breakdown needs.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Ivy League and Penn rules and policies. Assist in organizing team and coach travel, compliance paperwork, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Serve as a role-model and advisor for student athletes in a general capacity. Connect student-athletes to necessary resources within and outside of Penn Athletics as needed. Provide a support system to all student-athletes on team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 0 to 1 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
