ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Security Engineer with software or systems engineer experience to join our team in Chantilly, VA to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech. Software and systems engineers are responsible for the quality of solution delivery, development, testing and deployment. They are involved in creating quality solution components based on the provided requirements. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ability to work in LINUX environment
- Analyzing an existing application to extract and optimize functionalities
- Analyzing user stories, use cases and requirements for validity and feasibility
- Collaborating closely with other software, testing, and system engineers
- Developing software applications using Java or other programming languages
- Ability to apply software development principals to customize COTS products
- Working knowledge of databases and LDAP directory services
- Developing automated deployment scripts when needed
- Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) principles
- Ability to support and maintain a PKI system, including customer onboarding
- Detecting and tracking software defects and inconsistencies
- Applying quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
- Providing support and documentation in coordination with the development and deployment teams
- Providing mentorship to more junior engineering staff
Position requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the ability to (i) work with minimal supervision, (ii) demonstrate good time-management skills and (iii) be a team player. Good verbal and written communication skills are also a must for this position. The successful candidate will also commit to maintaining current job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
BS in Computer Science or related fields OR added years of experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to work in LINUX environment.
- 7+ years of experience as a Software/Systems Engineer or similar role.
- Ability to apply software development principals to customize COTS products
- Working knowledge of databases and LDAP directory services
- Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
Certification Requirements:
Have or able to obtain Security+ Certification within 6 months of hire.
Security Requirements: Active TS/SCI with Poly
