Senior Tooling Engineer – Metal Stamping Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Support:

• Evaluate and resolve tool performance issues using root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and quality.

1. Preventive Maintenance:

• Create and update preventive maintenance procedures to maintain optimal tool performance.

1. Tool Design & Modifications:

• Update die drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to reflect modifications accurately.

1. New Product Introduction:

• Participate in quoting, installation, and commissioning of new tools.
• Conduct feasibility reviews, attend customer meetings, and ensure tools meet technical requirements.

1. Vendor Management:

• Manage vendor relationships, oversee tooling progress, and perform run-offs to ensure timely and precise delivery.

1. Process Development:

• Establish standard processes, develop detailed work instructions, and negotiate with vendors to optimize outcomes.

1. Travel & Collaboration:

• Visit manufacturing plants as needed and work closely with teams to implement effective tooling solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years in a sheet metal stamping environment.
• Education: Completion of an authorized tool apprentice program or an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and CPK analysis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, reaching, and using ladders.
• Exposure to vibration and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
