The Program Director Medical Lab Sciences manages both the day-to-day operations of the Medical Laboratory Science program as well as provides overall direction for the future of the program. The Director recruits, interviews and selects the students who will enter the program and directs the actions of the clinical faculty supporting the program. The Program Director designs, evaluates and amends program curriculum based upon its effectiveness, and in accordance with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) Standards.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Make decisions for direct reports in one or multiple departments and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.

• Develop and manage one or multiple departmental budgets, including making budget allocations, approving expenditures and ensuring expenses are within budget.

• Develop, implement, monitor, and analyze the comprehensive program effectiveness plan.

• Coordinate evaluations of the core curriculum for the program as well as assessments of institutional effectiveness and prepare reports and analysis.

• Develop curriculum development and redesign ensuring program compliance with state standards as well as maintaining full accreditation through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS).

• Assess students' cognitive and psychomotor skill instruction, development and competency as well as the students' affective skills.

• Assess the instructional needs of students in the program and coordinates the development of a plan to address these needs.

• Assess the professional needs of faculty in the division and make recommendations to fill those needs.

• Supervise managers or supervisors within one or multiple departments and manage the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.

• Deliver curriculum as needed.

• Recruit, interview, and select the students who will enter the program.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree - Required

• Master's Degree - Required

• 3 years Teaching experience - Required

• 3 years of 36 hours CE every 3 years - Required

• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - Required

TRAVEL IS REQUIRED:

Up to 20%
