TRIO Upward Bound is searching for a local champion to drive student success through partnerships with Washington State University and Lake Roosevelt High School. This program suports low-income high school students in preparing for the first-generation college experience. Upward Bound is active across North Central Washington, empowering individuals to actively support their local schools while functioning as a branch of the larger educational network. The mission is to equip students with the skills and motivation to graduate from Lake Roosevelt High School, succeed in higher education, and become leaders in their communities and beyond.
The Opportunity:
The Program Assistant at Lake Roosevelt High School is available as a hybrid-work position with the following three areas of focus:
Student Services Support
The primary liaison to Lake Roosevelt High School, your role would be to provide in-person guidance and support, empowering students to develop the skills and motivation needed to graduate and pursue higher education. You may be called upon to provide local leadership in program development and evaluation. This role requires the ability to exercise independent, sound judgement, to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and communicate to the public with tact.
Administrative Management
As the Program Assistant, your objective is to implement TRIO Upward Bound goals while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, university, and grant regulations. This work includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing administrative tasks and timelines, purchasing and reconciling, and assisting with annual review processes. Maintaining accurate records and following program policies is required, along with a proactive approach to logistical planning and the ability to independently problem-solve.
Student Travel Support
TRIO Upward Bound students are given opportunities to travel to attend cultural events, tour college campuses, and other enrichment opportunities. The Program Assistant will be part of the team planning and executing these trips, along with transporting and chaperoning students.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
$3,239.00 to $4,299.00 | Range 37 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
A degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
