Job Summary

10 – month Electrical Technology Instructor. The role involves teaching 15 credit hours per semester, planning instructional activities, maintaining training equipment, and advising students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical technology, industry experience, and a commitment to professional development and community service. Assignments may include evening, weekend, and off-campus courses.

Job Duties:

• Teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester.
  
• Plan and carry out instructional activities.
  
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs of training equipment.
  
• Maintain records and report on student progress.
  
• Provide academic advising and assist with student recruitment, retention, and student outcome assessment.
  
• Keep abreast of technical changes in the field and update the program accordingly.
  
• Participate in professional development activities, professional growth, and institutional service.
  
• Engage in various departmental activities, including course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and participation in continuing education/community service.
  
• Ability to read and interpret information found on industrial electrical drawings.
  
• Ability to apply a basic understanding of industrial equipment use.
  
• Ability to apply a basic understanding of direct circuits, alternating circuits, power supplies, transistors, amplifiers, oscillators, digital circuits and digital/microprocessor systems.
• Ability to analyze and perform tool and safety procedures such as, selecting proper tools, safe use of hand tools, electrical hazards, environmental hazards and electrical safety testing equipment.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree in related field or industry certifications in related areas
  
• 2 years of related work experience
  
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
