Senior Manager, Tribal Family Services

Reporting to the Director, Tribal Family Services, the Sr. Mgr., Tribal Family Services focuses on supporting the Tribe’s commitment to their community. This role is responsible for overseeing and implementing the health and wellness programming for the Tribal community. Provides effective leadership and guidance to the health and wellness staff, ensuring high-quality and timely program and service delivery for the Tribal community. Researches and analyzes community needs and designs programs to meet those needs related to physical, mental, and psychosocial health and wellness, while maintaining the strictest confidentiality and in compliance with applicable law. Provides high-quality, timely clinical services for the Tribal community, including assessment, treatment, care management and linkage to care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provides clinical assessment, case planning, and resource linkage based on mental health, substance use, and/or wellness needs. Monitors department progress on providing high-quality, timely services for the Tribal community.

2. Assists in establishing policies and procedures to address constituent confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, Tribal Citizen intake, referrals, and progress monitoring and assessment.

3. Researches community needs and designs relevant health and wellness programs to support the overall health of the Tribal community.

4. Conducts daily rounds to monitor and evaluate the successful day-to-day management of operations and ensure department staff are consistently meeting departmental standards.  Assists in the execution and measurement of customer service standards within all operations to ensure optimal performance.

5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Services, Behavioral Health required; Master’s degree or higher, preferred.
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist or Registered Nurse required.
• Minimum of five (5) years related experience and minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience within the mental health and wellness field required.
• Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

• This position requires an individual with highly developed communication skills, who expertly navigates situations surrounding death, dying, depression, dependencies/intervention, family conflicts, and other difficult life events.
• Experience with community mental health programming with the following:
  • Working from a therapeutic modality that is culturally informed
  • Creating activities and preparing lesson plans
  • Leading groups
  • Develop and provide training for stakeholders
  • CPS, APS, Mandated Reporter
  • Referrals
  • Clinical Supervision
  • Providing Psychoeducation (PEI- Prevention/ Early Intervention, Individualized Treatment, and    Intensive Treatment)
  • Providing Triage Assessments/Maintaining brief case notes
  • Supporting community engagement through various modalities
  • Experience and comfortable working with a diverse population: (i.e., youth (ages 0-18), young adults, adults, and elders)
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to Tribal history, lifestyle, and culture to earn and retain the trust of the Tribal community.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Code of Ethics of one of the following: National Association of Social Workers, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapist, American Psychological Association.
