In this role as Commercial Manager, you will lead pricing and margin management for the Performance Materials (PM) Engineering Plastics business in North America.   This role will require you to collaborate, network, and leverage our full organization to problem solve, meet your customer needs, and drive profitable and sustainable growth for BASF.

 

The Commercial Manager role reports to the Director of Marketing and Product Management, Engineering Plastics, and a key member of the respective Leadership Team.

As a Commercial Manager you create chemistry by...

 

• Leading pricing strategy development and implementation, including margin management and contract management, for the Engineering Plastics North America business.  You will play a key role in achieving the strategic and financial objectives of the team by developing pricing strategy and driving implementation with Product Management, Market Segment Management, and Sales Management.
• Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will maximize regional profitability for assigned customers and product portfolio.
• Support account managers through strategic positioning, pricing and negotiations to achieve BASF volume and profitability targets in the relevant market segments.
• Demonstrating your strong leadership ability, you will develop and lead projects designed to optimize margin (i.e. - cost reduction, rebates optimization, etc.).
• Working collaboratively within the business unit, you will play key role in Operational Plan development.
• Utilizing your experience in Pricing, you will lead pricing initiatives that include price increases, decreases and negotiations.  You will also play a supporting role for routine pricing audits.
• You will be a valuable contributor to the EP NA Marketing and Product Management Leadership Team, supporting strategic initiatives

• Hold a Bachelor´s degree in business or a technical field
• Have an excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
