The Role
The need for more sophisticated outage management tools is rapidly expanding across the utility industry. Come join Digital Grid Management (DGM) whose work makes a direct impact on all energy consumers, is actively working to address the challenges of climate change, and who’s positioned in the market to grow at a rapid pace over the next decade with massive opportunities for career growth.We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to contribute to the company’s industry leading Outage Management System (OMS). In this role, you will be a member of an Agile development team that designs and implements highly scalable and performant outage management platform with a best-in-class front end user experience. This role’s contributions will make a highly visible impact on software that has a direct impact with thousands of daily users, as well as the millions of utility customers whose reliability of service depends on these applications.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a fundamental understanding of software development techniques while possessing passion to learn and excel your expertise to the next level. You will also need to have the self-motivation and management to plan and execute moderate complexity development projects to successful completion.
Your Impact
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best -in-class software.
- Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault tolerant code based on requirements and/or user stories.
- Ensure reliable code by developing unit tests and test automation tools.
- Assist in code and design reviews.
- Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
- Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective.
- Investigate, isolate, and identify solutions to reported software malfunctions.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Experience with object orientated programming (Java, C++, C#, Python, etc.)
- Experience with web-based programming (JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS)
- Test-driven development experience. Must be able to unit test code.
- Fundamental knowledge of interacting with databases (Mongo, Oracle DB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite preferred).
- Solid understanding of algorithms and complex data structures.
- Basic experience with user interface design and adjusting approach to user interaction and feedback.
- Opportunities to travel may arise but are not required.

The salary range for this role is $70,700.00 - $88,400.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay.
