About the role

Job Summary:

 

The Junior Developer is responsible for supporting a variety of business system developments. The position will primarily focus on ServiceNow projects but will also provide support to other Digital Transformation Office (DTO) team activities. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering critical code to help ensure applications are up-to-date and fully functional.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and create solutions for system and application needs
  • Review existing applications and recommend improvements
  • Support new product roadmap in collaboration with DTO leadership, business stakeholders and project teams
  • Provide regular status updates on project deliverables
  • Technical design and development of new solutions
  • Develop standards for design, coding and testing
  • Consult with users to determine system functional specifications;
  • Design, document, analyze, create, test and modify solutions, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications
  • As a member of the DTO department, actively contribute to and support Southwest Key’s mission
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Other Functions:

  • Provide support and back-up to the System Administrators as needed.
  • May travel to various events and program locations to assist teams as assigned.
  • Compile reports from various database systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited College or University with a degree in Computer Science, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience demonstrating technical approaches used to deliver DTO products and services to large client organizations
  • 1-2 years of experience communicating with both the customer and development communities on automation issues.
  • Proven knowledge of basic coding languages such as HTML5, ASP.NET, C#, PHP, C++ and JavaScript.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to problem-solve and utilize critical thinking skills to address challenges
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and writing skills.
  • Manage time and projects effectively.
  • Must have ability to manage work on multiple projects while maintaining sensitivity to deadlines
  • Able to work independently

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, stooping, reaching, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
