ABOUT THE TEAM

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Calibration Manager to lead our global calibration program and our HQ calibration execution in Costa Mesa, CA. This role will be in our Quality organization and partner across the product development organizations, production organizations, and field operations organizations.  This role will be dynamic and full of new engagement, challenges, and opportunities to bring the core elements of success for a calibration program - process and capability alignment, managing tracking software, schedules, accuracy & precision of equipment, calibration history, traceability methods, accreditation & reporting and support auditing.  The role will have a strategic engagement with Anduril global sites and direct supervision of calibration specialists in the Costa Mesa area.  The tools, processes, and procedures that are you develop will be implemented in Arsenal 1 in Ohio.  If you are someone who has passion for the quality of their work,, is hands-on with engineering, production, and vendors, and be accountable for calibration results, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and build a global calibration execution and support model, partnering with multiple sites and production & engineering teams.
  • Plan, resource, and execute calibration activities for calibrated devices at local factories in Santa Ana & Costa Mesa, Forward Deployed sites, and Test sites.
  • Take on the critical responsibility of designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive calibration process for a new factory within an 18-month timeline. Manage the database and ensure that it is updated when appropriate, including but not limited to updating location and owners of tools.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods to improve calibration efficiency and effectiveness.  
  • Define project milestones, develop detailed execution plans, and monitor progress to meet deadlines and quality standards. 
  • Ensure smooth integration of calibration processes into factory operations. 
  • Create infrastructure for equipment flagged for calibration (i.e. Drop location for assets requiring calibration, standardization of calibration intake information, providing instructions for 3rd party vendor)
  • Create processes and procedures documenting the standard operations of the calibration process by defining roles and responsibilities for involved and interested parties.  Conduct spot audits as needed for compliance to calibration procedures.
  • Manage the coordination of calibration activities with our calibration vendors, including but not limited to requesting quotes for services, creating purchase orders, scheduling on-site calibration. 
  • Manage the creation, upkeep and communication of calibration procedures, documented information and communication there of.
  • Ensure that there are consistencies and completeness in calibration plans across Anduril's global sites, training material, and performance management metrics.  Support global site readiness reviews for internal and external auditing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in Science / Engineering or similar technical field.  
  • Minimum 3 years experience in calibration management, preferably within a defense or aerospace environment.  
  • Experience managing calibration at a large organization and production environment
  • Experience working with and managing 3rd party calibration vendors
  • Experience with automated calibration tools and software.  
  • Experience improving processes and procedures (specifically around calibration) with an emphasis on process creation.
  • Familiar with common industry calibration standards and methods
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering calibration systems for manufacturing facilities.  
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and AS6500 standards and their application in calibration processes.
