We handle over 5 billion daily API requests through hybrid infrastructure that combines AWS managed services with self-hosted open-source tech like Kubernetes and Apache foundation projects. We continuously evaluate when to use self-hosted versus managed services to achieve the best cost-efficiency ratio and reduce our monthly $300K hosting costs. </p> <p>We've implemented infrastructure as code through Terraform, managing deployments via Kubernetes while engineering comprehensive monitoring systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELKstack. </p> <p>The cloud engineers also provide adjoe's developers with working solutions, knowledge, and documentation that gives them autonomy to work on infrastructure while ensuring high-quality service and minimal downtime for continued business growth.</p> <h2 id="what-you-will-do">What You Will Do:</h2> <ul> <li>You will work together in a team of experienced DevOps engineers to reinvent our cloud infrastructure by introducing new technologies and improving the existing environment.</li> <li>You will design and implement solutions based on a variety of AWS services and Opensource Technologies.</li> <li>You will support our developers in building a high-performance backend with Go (based on our existing backend structures separated over several globally located data centers).</li> <li>You will collaborate with experts from different technological backgrounds and countries, learn from highly experienced colleagues, and share your knowledge.</li> <li>You will work with our current tech stack: DruidDB, Kafka, DynamoDB, AirFlow, Apache Spark, RDS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Gitlab, ECS, EMR, Lambda, complex CI/CD pipelines, Prometheus, Data pipelines, Go and many more.</li> <li>You will help in implementing new technologies by migrating parts of our architecture to newly deployed Kubernetes and Kafka clusters, introducing Apache Spark or Flink, and setting up our own hosted object storage solution.</li> <li>You will troubleshoot issues in complex systems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement appropriate solutions.</li> </ul> <h2 id="who-you-are">Who You Are:</h2> <ul> <li>You have 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer/SRE/Platform Engineer with a strong passion for improving scalability and cloud infrastructure and a keen interest in coding.</li> <li>You have extensive experience with Kubernetes , including deploying and managing containerized applications within Kubernetes environments.</li> <li>You have a profound understanding of the AWS ecosystem and services such as DynamoDB, SQS, EKS, IAM etc. as well as infrastructure as code with Terraform.</li> <li>You have good knowledge of microservice architecture and communication between microservices (e.g. Topics, Queues, Object storage, etc.).</li> <li>You have a deep understanding of CI/CD tools and experience with building and maintaining pipelines.</li> <li>You have strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.</li> <li>You are self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies and tools.</li> <li>You are open to relocating to Hamburg, Germany</li> </ul> <h2 id="fuel-for-the-journey-benefits-to-support-your-ambitions">Fuel for the Journey: Benefits to Support Your Ambitions</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Invest in Your Future:</strong> Regular feedback and our development program support your growth, helping you expand your skill set and achieve your career goals.</li> <li><strong>Easy Arrival to adjoe:</strong> From signing to settling in Hamburg, we’ve got you covered.
