Senior Producer, Los Angeles

Reuters is seeking a talented video leader for its Los Angeles bureau. The candidate will have a proven track record of leading a busy news agenda and large teams, with a passion for both hard news and entertainment coverage. You will be passionate about telling the stories of diverse communities and providing voices from a range of perspectives.

The position requires excellent news judgment, the ability to handle several stories simultaneously and produce excellent live and edited video stories at speed. You will manage a team of producers and video journalists both in LA and remote bureaus. Excellent people management skills and the ability to motivate teams remotely are essential. You will be part of a team of managers working closely with video, text and photo colleagues across the North America.

About the Role

 As the Senior Producer, Los Angeles, you will:

• Lead the Los Angeles video team, with responsibility for all live and edited news and entertainment coverage
• Deliver fast, accurate and distinctive news
• Play an active and creative role in setting the news agenda, pitching and executing original ideas for Reuters clients and Reuters own digital publishing platforms
• Help differentiate Reuters entertainment coverage during Awards season and from Hollywood throughout the year. Plan and deliver extraordinary coverage of the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics.
• Work with safety and operations stakeholders to make sure our teams are well-equipped and well-trained for all news scenarios, including hostile environments
• Uphold Reuters Trust Principles of independence, integrity, and freedom from bias 

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Senior Producer, Los Angeles, if your background includes:

• Solid editorial experience in managing news teams at a broadcast, agency or digital newsroom  
• Excellent news judgment, with a clear vision of what makes a compelling visual story
• The ability to build and manage strong news gathering teams. Significant experience developing teams through training, mentoring and feedback
• Creativity in abundance,  strong planning and organizational skills.
